Product Design and Development
Thank you for expressing interest in our digital and analogue radio link. The heart of the unit is Link-Up synthesised radio transceiver which is capable of communicating over distances in excess of 20 Km, no licence is required as the radio is type approved to MPT1329.
The Link-Up is mounted on a control PCB which has various connections to the user interface.
16 Digital Inputs. 5V CMOS
16 Digital Outputs 5V CMOS
4 Analogue Inputs 0-5V 8 BIT
4 Analogue Outputs. 0-5V 8 BIT
1 Digital Out of Range output. 5V CMOS
RS232 Interface
I2C Interface.
Two units are able to communicate if their on-board DIP switches ( 256 addresses ) have the same settings. The protocol for transmission and reception is automatic, no user intervention is required once the units have been set up, just power up and the transfer will take place.
The data structure will take care of errors to ensure the received data is valid, if the receiver hasn't received a valid signal for a certain period of time the Out of Range output will become active to warn the operator.
The inputs, outputs and interface are connected to via standard D-type connectors. An optional I/O PCB is available to offer added protection and versatility to the digital inputs and outputs. The I/O board Opto isolates the 16 digital inputs and converts the 16 digital outputs and out of range output to relays, giving outputs of a common, normally open and normally closed contact for each of the 17 outputs.
